So I was having my mind blown just a few blocks north on Clark Street this evening, but damned if Cubby Bear didn't also host quite the throw down as well.
I recently came across a full show audio stream and download (via archive.org) of The Mantras set from the evening of March 6th, 2014. Not only does this recording sound incredible, they've even shared a pro-shot video of one of the gig's highlights.
I'm always a big fan of musical sandwiches and The Mantras offer a double nod to the city they are performing in during this one, by inserting Chicago (the band's) "25 or 6 to 4" inside of a jammed out version of Umphrey's McGee's "Hurt Bird Bath". UM's Jake Cinninger helped out on production for The Mantras' latest release Jambands Ruined My Life, so it was a bit more than a friendly nod. Enjoy.
