If I could scream any louder about Mr. Anders Osborne I would, but at this point I don't think it's possible. Quite simply, he is one of my favorite presently working musicians. Gigging in so many different bands that are constantly in motion across the U.S., he is busting his ass to entertain us all. I recently had the pleasure of seeing him join one of my other All Time Favorites, Mr. Phil Lesh, as one of his friends at The Capitol Theater and it was outstanding. That trip played a factor in me not making the schlep up to Evanston to see this gig at SPACE, but we're lucky to have a full show to listen to regardless.
Here, Anders goes the solo acoustic route, and delivers song after song of "tender-as-fuck" renditions of tunes from his latest album Peace (dig on the humorous / poignant "47" for sure), as well as a couple of other treats. The Neil Young cover foreshadows a bit of what he had up his sleeve with Phil & Friends in the days to follow.
