PREVIEW | Leftover Salmon's Funkn Bluegrass Bash In Chicago

It seems that Leftover Salmon just can't play a normal show in Chicago.

Need proof?

Their last two visits saw them squeezing Jerry tribute sets (Old & In The Way and Garcia/Grisman) between Fare Thee Well live streams, then playing the after show and being surprised on New Year's Eve by Sam Bush and Col. Bruce Hampton.

So how do they top that?  This winter, the quintessential FESTIVAL band brings something called The Funkn' Bluegrass Bash to Chicago this Friday and Saturday nights.

Friday night is for the funk -- featuring opening slots by Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk and the trombone fueled master class that is Bonerama.  With all these NOLA sounds, let's call this the Jazz Fest portion of the FESTIVAL.

Saturday brings out the trusty Traveling McCoury and "It" band-of-the-moment on the bluegrass scene, 80s cover specialists Love Canon. Let's call this the Telluride portion of the FESTIVAL.

No matter which night you choose (or both), you're sure to catch some epic sit-ins and a hell of a party.

At press time, tickets are still available for both shows.  Get 'em here bit.ly/LoSFunknBluegrass
