It's On! Three Chicago Dates @ Northerly Island Anchor Phish 2013 Summer Tour

UPDATE (7/18/13): It's almost here! Here is a FAQ for everything you need to know about the venue. And a guide for those who want to get the most out of a visit to the city.

GRAB 2006
GRAB 2006

Glorious! Add three nights of Phish to an extended Chicago weekend (July 19-21) that already includes the three-day Pitchfork Music Festival in Union Park, Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field (Friday), and Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake at Soldier Field (Monday). Some details that are known are included below, but the venue layout and capacity are just a few items that are still fluid at the moment. We'll update them as they become clearer.

  • These are the first ever outdoor Phish shows within city limits
  • The venue was the site of the only Chicago GRAB show in 2006
  • Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island has traditionally been a 7500 seat venue, built on the former Miegs Field, a landfill in Lake Michigan in the shadow of Soldier Field that held an executive airstrip
  • The venue offers one of the finest views of the Chicago skyline, Soldier Field and the Chicago museums that you'll find anywhere
  • Charter One Pavilion has always been a temporary venue. The stage is rebuilt annually, there is little to no permanent structure (bleachers, mobile portajohns / concessions are all "mobile")
  • While nobody know how the Summer 2013 venue will be configured, there have been strong rumors of expanded capacity. Phish's options for ticketing include both GA and "Stands'
  • Bargain! Phish is offering a three day pass for $150 while single day tickets are $60 apiece
