Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Are Making Their Move

Horseshoes & Hand Grenades is a Stevens Point, Wisconsin band who you may be hearing a lot from these days.  Sitting here in Chicago, it sure seems like the band is primed to make their move, and they certainly have the tools to capitalize.

At first glance, they're a slick progressive bluegrass band -- but they set themselves apart by adding a dash of harmonica and a keen ear for songwriting, with impressive hooks that don't dampen the instrumentalists' prodigious talents.  Check out "Short But Sweet" for the best example, but don't be surprised if you end up humming it for the rest of the day.

They just played a significant Chicago gig, opening for Railroad Earth on 12/30 at the Vic, and will spend early 2016 opening a run of shows for Greensky Bluegrass in the Midwest and up and down the East Coast.

In February, they'll co-headline the Snow Shoe fest at Chicago's 1st Ward with festival hosts Old Shoe.  Old Salt Union and artist-at-large Dan Andree will also be on the bill -- with the promise of everybody on stage for the last set of the night.
