Chris Stapleton Announces New Albums, Releases First Single

By: Alex Wood

Chris Stapleton first made a name for himself as the leader of bluegrass group The SteelDrivers and as a prolific Nashville songwriter, but became a true country star with 2015’s Traveller, his solo debut taking award ceremonies by storm and followed by a grueling, seemingly endless world tour.

Now well established as one of the best voices, songwriters and live shows in the country scene, Stapleton has announced two new full-lengths to be released this year.

From A Room: Volume 1 will be released 5/5, with From A Room: Volume 2 set to arrive later in the year.

Stapleton premiered one new song from Volume 1, titled “Second One To Know,” at the ACM Awards last week, and has now shared the studio version of  “Broken Halos” on Spotify.

“Broken Halos” boasts the outlaw-country sound that made Stapleton’s debut so affecting, his incredible, soulful vocal delivery augmented by his wife Morgane’s simple harmonies.

The lyrics have a classic Nashville feel, Stapleton’s knack for imagery and hooks still apparent in the short, three-minute track.
