Preview & Ticket Giveaway | New Riders Of The Purple Sage Psychedelic Last Supper @ Bottom Lounge

The Dead are celebrating 50 years this summer, but David Nelson had started playing with Jerry Garcia even before that.

When New Riders begin to gig steadily in 1969, Jerry provided the pedal steel, Mickey Hart the drums and Phil Lesh the occasional bass.  So when NRPS bring the Psychedelic Last Supper to Chicago to coincide with those final Dead shows, it's all in the family.  For a bit of what they're up to these days, check out the video at the end of this post.

And with a bit of that classic Dead family, comes a new set of bands ready to continue the journey.  A different Chicago-area band opens each night, with Thinner Teed on 7/3, The Pistachio Brothers on 7/4 and SPREAD on 7/5.  We want to send some of our readers to check this gig out.

We’re giving away a pair for each night and entering our contest is simple, but if you want to increase your odds… follow the directions carefully.

1. Send us an email with the subject “Psychedelic Last Supper” to info @ tomorrowsverse.com — in the body tell us your full name and, the day(s) you'd like to be entered for, and who'd be at your dinner table for a Psychedelic Last Supper.

That’s it. You’re entered. We’ll notify the winner on July 1st. But if you want a few extra entries, let’s get social…

2. Find the link to this page (or our main contest page) in our Facebook timeline. LIKE it, and tag the friend you'd like to take in the comments — that’ll give you a boost. Be sure to LIKE The Barn on Facebook for it to count!

3. Find our tweet about this page in our Twitter timeline. RETWEET it or REPLY with your desired Last Supper guests and that will give you one more boost. Be sure to FOLLOW @thebarnpresents on Twitter.

Can't decide what to see, or just want to cover your bases? Check out some of our other Dead50 Weekend Giveaways.

Here's the full NRPS set from the John Hartford Memorial Festival earlier this year.
